November 5, 1946 to January 27, 2013
The heavens opened early Sunday morning to welcome Steve home to our
Heavenly Father and our son, Colby. Steve is now free from the pain of his 10 year struggle with
COPD. Steve had a strong belief in our Lord and Savior. He loved K-2 The Church and looked forward
to Sunday messages. Steve was a very kind and compassionate person, everyone he met he thought of
them as family. We had a wonderful 47 years of marriage together. He had a great love for golfing,
snow skiing, and water skiing. Steve was born on November 5, 1946 in Ogden, to Roy and Jesse
Johnson Groff. He grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. Steve worked numerous
jobs and found his true love in sales. He managed Morgan Jewelers in Ogden and in Salt Lake City.
In 1988 we had a great opportunity to open our own store. Colby Jewelers was open for 25 years. We
were inseparable in work and in life and always said "Love You Always and Forever." We spent the
last 25 years living in Farmington and love our caring neighbors and beauty of this town. We will
miss him deeply, but he will be in our hearts and memories forever. He had many friends, maybe
that's because he lived life to the fullest.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Lynda; sons, Steven (Shawna)
and Dereick (JoAnn); sister, Tonja Lupher, sister-in-laws, Vicki (Mike) McKinstry, and Debbie
Hymas; grandsons, Taylor, Riley, and Brandon; granddaughters, Tiffany (A.J.) and Robyn; great
granddaughter, Molly; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by our son, Colby
Jordan in 2002, his parents and grandparents. A special thanks to the Davis Hospital ICU nurses and
staff, Dr. Grover and Dr. Pittman for their loving care. Steve requested to be cremated. A
graveside service and a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. "Love You Always
and Forever"
