April 8, 1947 to April 15, 2006

 
It isn’t the way Charlene died on Friday at McKay-Dee Hospital for which she will be remembered, but how she lived – uniquely, differently each day.

Big sister Charlene was born in Logan on April 8, 1947 to Clyde and Eva Jones Saxton. She was the ‘lone girl amongst five children, but stood her ground well with love and attitude.

Charlene loved animals, Elvis, movies, Easter Peeps and mixing politics with microwave dinners.

Charlene also loved James O. Campion, whom she married in October 1966. They had two children, Nicole and Cody, before divorcing in 1981. Charlene and Jim remained lifetime friends.

Charlene, who graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1965 then went on to work at Morton International, IRS and the Ogden Trailer Company – a former family owned and operated business.

She returned to school in the mid 80’s, serving as Weber State University’s Non-Traditional School Senator.

Charlene is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by Nicole Campion Wong, Cody J. (Sara) Campion and one grandson, Cody J. Campion II, all of Ogden. She is also survived by brothers; C. Brent (Chris) Saxton, Bryon K. (Shauna) Saxton, all of Roy; Craig M. (Trudy) Saxton of North Ogden and a sister-in-law, Betty Saxton of Sunset, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Gordon Saxton; her grandparents, Mark Jones and Emma S. Godfrey; a grandmother, Lydia Sant and an uncle, Mark F. Jones.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Logan City Cemetery, Logan, Utah at 3:30 p.m.
