FLOWER MOUND, TX. Joel Daniels Brown, 55, formerly of Ogden, died suddenly in Newark, NJ on April 30, 2003 of natural causes. He was born July 20, 1947 in Ogden, the son of Thomas Dee Daniels Brown and Mary McMillen Brown. He spent his early years in Weber County and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1965.

Joel was a gifted salesman, entrepreneur and teacher. He joined Zales Jewelers in 1967 and at that time, was the youngest store manager in Zale Corporation history. Joel would work for Zale for over 30 years during his professional life, most recently as Senior Vice-President of Store Operations for the Piercing Pagoda subsidiary. He was a valued member of the Zale team and will be truly missed.

Joel loved and embraced the teachings of Jesus Christ and was active in the Fellowship Church where he taught Sunday School and was Kids' Coach for the 5th grade sports team. Joel was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend; his passing has left a void that will never be filled. Joel is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Flower Mound, TX; children, Keleneka Marie (John) Stansel of Lutz, FL; Daniel J. and Katrina Joelle of Flower Mound, TX; grandsons, Christopher and Aiden Stansel of Lutz, FL; mother and stepfather, Mary M and David J White of Ogden; sister, Barbara Daniels Brown-Cower of Ogden; brothers, Thomas Dee Daniels Brown, Jr., of Pocatello, ID and Michael J White of Ogden; step-siblings nieces and nephews. Joel was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Dee Daniels Brown, sister, DeAnn Daniels Brown, and nephews Randy F. Cower and Thomas Dee Daniels Brown III. Funeral services were held May 5, 2003 at Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX. Arrangements by Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville, TX.
