Moved
Out Of State: Lived in Iowa for 4 years while first husband went to
Dental School.
Personal Info:
After high school I went to BYU,
graduating with a degree in education in 1969. I married Darel Nelson and
put him through dental school while teaching in Bountiful and Iowa City, IA.
We moved to Vernal Utah in 1974, where he practiced dentistry and I taught
school. We had three children but divorced in 1986.
In 1987 I married Dave Swanson, my best friend and life partner. We've been
married 18 years. He has 2 children and together we have 2 German Wirehair
dogs. We moved to Powell, WY in 1987 where we still live today.
I've taught school 29 years, mostly at the middle school level but I changed
to high school in 2000. I teach graphic art, yearbook and newspaper at
Powell High School and love my job. I will probably teach 4 more years and
then retire.
My husband is retired and builds fly rods, goes fishing, ties flies, goes
fishing, does computer consulting, goes fishing...I go whenever I can. We
love fly fishing and are also both pilots and have flown all over the west
in small planes. We haven't flown since 9-11 but hope to again when I
retire. We have 7 grandchildren with one due on July 31. (Thus, I wasn't
able to make the reunion)
In June, 2005, Margaret Durham, Susan Call and I met for lunch in Layton. We
hadn't seen each other for about 30 years. It was wonderful and I wish I
could be at the reunion. Have a great time!
