Can't believe it has been 40yrs. since
we were in High School. Don't know about you BUT I'M NOT OLD. Just can't
seem to get out of the retail business. I have five booths in the Quilted
Bear (since we closed our store 11yrs. ago) I volunteer at the base thrift
store. Hobbies-I guess has been a soccer mom, world traveler (Germany,
Poland, Hungry, Switzerland, Austria, Korea, Japan, Hawaii, Italy, etc) and
best of all being a grandma to my 13 grandchildren all under 11. Was a
substitute teacher. Mostly Special Ed in the high school. It helped
supplemental income while my husband earned his Masters in Business
Administration.
After 5yrs. I changed careers
and started tending grandkids full time. Stacie our oldest being a single
mom of 3 graduated from Weber State and was honored with the Woman of the
year award. Delonni lives in San Diego with her family. Her husband is a
Marine and has had two tours to Iraq. Dustin lives with his family in
Layton. Our son Scott lives in Farr West with his family and with 2 of my
darling grandsons that I tend during the week. Our youngest Michael who
escorted me to our 30th. Is now 25 has been on mission to Korea came home
and jointed the National Guard in the Military Intelligence Corp. Went to
Iraq as an Interrogator and now teaches Military Intelligence at Fort
Hiachuga in AZ. with his wife and our newest grandson.
We have housed 25 foreign
exchange students from Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico and we have had 5
teenage foster boys. My Husband Jay of 35years was a Senior Engineer for
Dynamics Research Corp. before being deployed and was just released as of
July 25th after being Active Duty at Fort Carson, Colo. as a Battalion,
Brigade and Garrison Command Sergeant Major with the Army reserves for the
past 2 1/2yrs.
I'M VERY GRATEFUL TO LIVE IN
AMERICA IN THE LAND OF FREEDOM. WE ARE SO LUCKY. (AS I LOOK AT IT I WOULD
RATHER PLAY (FIGHT) IN SOMEONE ELSE YARD THAN MINE. JUST BE PROUD OF WHO YOU
ARE, AN AMERICAN!!!
Well I'll being seeing you all
again in another 10yrs. GUESS WHAT!! IT WILL BE THE BIG 50!!!!! AND WE WILL
STILL LOOK YOUNG!!!!
